Our Intensive English Centre (IEC) provides specialised support for newly arrived students who are learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD). The program is designed to help students develop the language skills and confidence they need to thrive in their schooling and everyday life in Australia.

Students attending the IEC come from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment. Depending on individual needs and visa conditions, students may attend the IEC for up to 12 months, or up to 24 months for those holding a humanitarian visa.

IECs operate within mainstream public schools across the Perth metropolitan area, with 14 centres currently available in primary, secondary, and senior school settings. Our IEC actively supports students’ integration into the wider school community by encouraging participation in whole‑school events, including incursions, excursions, sports carnivals, assemblies and social activities.
