The PEAC Program provides enrichment opportunities for academically gifted students in Years 5 and 6 across WA public schools. Selected students take part in specialised courses designed to extend their thinking and challenge them beyond the regular classroom program.
How the program is delivered:
PEAC courses are offered in several ways, including:
• Regional PEAC centres with specialist programs
• Courses hosted at various schools or community sites
• Programs delivered within schools
• Online learning options
What students experience in PEAC:
PEAC programs give students opportunities to:
• Work with peers who have similar learning needs
• Engage in challenging and creative thinking tasks
• Explore real world problems in depth
• Develop higher order thinking and research skills
• Learn at their own pace
• Reflect on their learning through self and peer evaluation
• Work with experts in different fields
Year 4 PEAC Testing:
All Year 4 students in public schools take part in PEAC testing each year. This helps identify students who may benefit from the program. Parents who do not wish for their child to participate can opt out by contacting the school.
